As case counts continue to change on a daily basis, governments across Canada are trying to strike the right balance of social restrictions to combat the spread of COVID-19 and while the plurality across the country say both provincial and federals governments are striking the right balance, 3-in-10 Canadians say that current restrictions are too loose.
The plurality of Canadians say that both provincial and federal restrictions are striking the right balance right now and are neither too tight nor too loose. This is highest in Atlantic Canada where more than 6-in-10 say their provincial and the federal restrictions are about right.
Among the rest, more say both federal and provincial restrictions are too loose than say they are too tight. This is particularly true out west in Alberta and BC where 43% and 40% respectively say that restrictions are too loose, while only 17% and 8% say they are too tight. In both provinces, this has been steady since the end of August.
