
In his second week as Prime Minister, Mark Carney has increased his lead as best equipped to handle Canada-US relations under Trump from 5-points to 12 points.
These are the topline findings of an online survey of 1,548 Canadian citizens sponsored and conducted by Innovative Research Group (INNOVATIVE) between March 19th and 21st, 2025.
The Conservative Party’s campaign is suffering from Canadians’ fear of Trump, and the increasing perception that Carney is better suited to manage that relationship than Poilievre.
- Canada – U.S. relations is being closely watched, with 65% of Canadians saying that Trump’s election as the US President leaves them feeling afraid.
- Concerns over tariffs remain high and steady. 82% of Canadians are concerned.
- A large majority of Canadians, 65%, are afraid of a Trump Presidency, with only 11% excited.
- Among the 65% of Canadians afraid of a Trump Presidency Carney leads Poilievre by 26-points, 50-24.
