Election night is always exciting and with this election being as close as it is, we will be on the edge of our seats! INNOVATIVE has made an election night cheat sheet to help you identify some key seats to watch in this tight race. While these are not the only close seats, they are some to keep an eye on. Click here to see the election night cheat sheet!
In addition to the cheat sheet, let’s take a look at a few key things leading up to election night.
First, the NDP appear to have the momentum. David Eby and the BC NDP have been focusing attacks on aspects of John Rustad’s and other BC Conservative candidates’ records and past statements. Recent polling suggests that this may be working, as the BC Conservatives lost the lead they held in early September as the month went on.
Second, some traditional voting patterns may be broken tonight. With the BC United (formerly BC Liberals) not running, their voters need to find a new home.
Our September polling found that 21% of those who always voted BC Liberal and 24% of those who did so most of the time say they will vote NDP. Also notable is that 32% of those who never voted BC Liberal say they will vote for the BC Conservatives.
If these potential shifts occur on election night, there could be surprises in both traditionally NDP and traditionally free enterprise seats.
Enjoy the cheat sheet. Fingers crossed that the new voting system delivers results quickly.
